Privacy/Data Policy

Your privacy is important to us, we value and respect it, and our privacy policy is very simple:

  • We never sell (or give away) your information to any other organisation.
  • We only ever ask you for enough information to fulfil/process/manage your order or for us/you to manage your account.
  • We do not operate any mail-lists (mail-lists which were in operation before 25-May-2018 have been deleted from our database).
  • We do not store any credit card, debit card, or bank account details at all.
  • All purchases (including subscriptions) are currently being applied manually via PayPal Invoices which are sent upon request by you.
  • The only "tracking" cookies that we use are standard Google Analytics. We don't use any advertising cookies of any sort.

We also have a separate page which explains how/why we use cookies.

Data that we hold about you:
We keep the data that we hold to an absolute minimum, what we hold is:

1. Your profile information
The personal information that you entered when ordering or registering (ie your name and address etc).

2. Your order history and license keys
What you bought, when you bought it, and what domains you bought it for.
In addition to using your order details to fulfil your order and for accounting/auditing purposes, we also use this information to generate your license keys and so that you/we can see/maintain the list of software that you've currently got and which domains they were for.

3. Your search history
The text that you entered in the "Software Search" facility.
ie if you're currently logged in, and you do a search, then we record what you searched for and when you did the search.
We use this information to get an idea of the kind of products that most of our customers are interested in so that we can target our development resources at relevant software and to get an idea of what's popular.

4. IP Addresses
We stamp orders, customer registrations, and searches ("Software Search") with the IP address of the person who performed the relevant action.
We do this so to help us to verify orders, and to get an idea of which countries our visitors come from, and to find/block countries/IP-Addresses that try to attack the site.

Your rights to anonymise your "orders" data
Due to the nature of our business, and the minimal data that we hold, we need to retain most of our data (especially orders and profile information) for accounting/auditing purposes and in case of order/product complaints, so it won't normally be deleted or anonymised.
So we have a policy of not deleting or anonymising our historic/current orders data unless specifically requested by you.
"Anonymising" means that we delete all references to any of your personal details such as your name, postal address, email address, userid, so that the data concerned is effectively turned into a generic "dummy" personal record that has no identifying features.
If you do wish for us to delete your orders data, then please contact us and we will be happy to anonymise it (we can only anonymise orders, we can't simply delete them), but we will need confirmation from you that any/all of your historic/current orders/products are not to be subject to any future complaint of any kind from your side (as we can't defend ourselves against a product/order/payment complaint if we have no record/confirmation of who placed that order).

Your rights to delete (or anonymise) your "profile" data
If you've registered with us, but have never ordered anything, then please contact us and we'll be happy to delete your profile information from our database.
If you've previously ordered anything from us, then we'll only anonymise your "profile" data if you go through the process of requesting to anonymise your "orders" data (see above) as our orders are tied-into your profile information.

Your rights to delete your "search" data
Please contact us if you wish us to delete your search data, and we will be happy to do so regardless of whether or not you've previously ordered from us.

Your rights to view/export all of your data
Please contact us if you wish to view/export all of your data, and we will export it in excel format as soon as we can and email it to you.
We don't currently have a "feed" for this kind of process, it has to be done manually and upon-request.
However, you can view most of your data yourself on the site by going to "My Account" and clicking on the relevant links to view your orders, profile, licenses, and the software that you have, and the domains that you have the software for.
