We've decided to extend the discounting of the BYZ subscription services, where the initial fee element is reduced by the cost of BYZ Addons that you've purchased in the last 12 months. This relates to the subscription services of BYZ147, BYZ148, and BYZ149. The reduced price will be shown when you get to the confirm-order page (ie after you have entered your domain).

BYZ Subscription Services added! You can now subscribe to get addons, or hosting, or both. For people who have bought BYZ addons in the last 12 months, you can trade-in what you've spent on addons in the last 12 months against a reduction in the relevant initial-fee element of the subscription service. This trade-in offer will only last for the next 30 days, so trade-in now! This trade-in relates to BYZ147, BYZ148, and BYZ149. See "subscription services" in the right-panel above or click on "services list" at the top. You'll get/see your discounted price of the subscription when you get to the final "confirm order" page (ie before you make payment, but after you've chosen your domain(s)). For example, if you've spent £120 on BYZ addons in the last 12 months, then you can get BYZ147 for just £37. If you've spent £200 on BYZ addons in the last 12 months then BYZ147 would only cost you £7. The prices concerned relate to prices excluding vat/tax and do not include installation cover/services. The My-Software screen has been changed to show a traffic-light system which shows a red cross for any modules which need upgrading, and a green tick for any modules which are up to date, which allows you to see at a glance if you need upgrades. NOTE: Please check your my-software screen regularly to see if upgrades are available.

VAT Reduced to 15% - Following the recent government announcements in the UK, VAT (only payable on orders placed from the EU) has now been reduced from 17.5% to 15% with immediate effect from Midnight 1st December 2008, and will remain at 15% for 13 months. All of the bigyellowkey.com ordering and payment processes have been changed to accommodate this. Customers outside the EU do not pay any VAT. Customers from the UK always pay VAT. Customers from the EU (but outside the UK) who have a valid VAT/Tax number do not pay vat. Customers from the EU (but outside the UK) who do not have a valid VAT/Tax number pay VAT.

Mail-Lists (with discounts) added. Your profile now has a mail-list option at the bottom where you can optionally sign up to mail-lists. Some mail-lists will give you discounts (these discounts will be explained on the mail-list description). Default will always be "no sign up" for any customer, either historic or new customers. You will need to explicitly tick the sign-up box and save the changes to get added to the mail-list (and receive the relevant discount).

Live/Archived radio buttons fixed - the live/archived/all radio buttons at the top of your "My Software" (and other "My") screens have now been fixed. They were previously one-step behind what you pressed, but are now correct and automatically refresh as soon as you click on one of the radio buttons.

Upgrade fix applied. There was a problem when upgrading Backfilled BYZ licences, this has now been fixed, but if you upgraded on BYK prior to this news item being added then go into your "My Software" screen, and check if you have multiple versions of a given product for a given domain; if you have multiple versions then press the archive link on the old versions, then go to your license keys page and create a new license key file, then download that key file and upload it to your site.

Sub-Modules added to your software lists - We have now ensured that all of your sub-modules are now listed for your main modules on your software screen. This means that you can now upgrade/download either the main module, and/or the sub-modules. Our upgrading and purchasing procedures use "intelligent" bundling, whereby if you've upgraded/bought all the corresponding sub-modules then you'd automatically also be assigned all appropriate parent bundls, and if you buy/upgrade a bundle then it will automatically assign access to all the sub-modules as well. Checkout your "My Software" screen, as it may now be showing you additional/new sub-modules.

BYZ Interface Improved - We have now changed our sister site (bigyellowzone.com) so that you will only get directed to bigyellowkey when you checkout, and not each time you add an item to your cart. There are 5 versions included in the slip - two for Admin so that you can print your invoices/receipts/slips, and another two for the customer, and another for the supplier emails. Each of these are individually configurable so that you can make each version different, and you can install/use any of these or all of them. Admin slip has a bulk-printing facility to print multiple orders.

Invoice/packing slip/order confirmation can be previewed and then sent at the click of a button in admin and can be used in place of standard VPASP order confirmations. Includes much improved functionality, new features and is even easier to use.

Design your packing slip based around our popular BYZ033 template fields bolt-on that is also is included in the package.

Show all order items or an order summary. Add your site logo to the slip. Automatically prints your company details straight from VP-ASP. Customizable to fit all kinds of window envelopes or mailing wallets. Add a customizable heading / title. Add customizable text to the bottom of the slip. Prints country/state names in full as opposed to the country/state codes used in VP-ASP. Handles taxes (including UK VAT and Australian GST). Customers can also print their own slip through the Customer Admin Screen.

Technical/Developer Information:
For supplier slip emails (which you can optionally use), it comes with 2 formats; one is the main supplier email template, and the other is an optional file attachment that you can send to the supplier attached to their email. This is so that, for example, you can display the info of the order in the main supplier email, and then have the supplier print off the separate attachment as a slip to put inside the package as an inventory list if your supplier is shipping the items themselves.

For Bulk-Printing, the view-orders admin screen has a new section added to the bottom for bulk slip printing (you can turn this off if you wish via the slip config options). Select your criteria for printing, press the Go button, and it'll give you a popup slip window with all the relevant orders in slip format with a physical page-break between each order. You can then print-off all the relevant orders in one shot. Saves having to manually click one order at a time.

Bulk-Printing parameters available are:

Highest Order Number to Print
Search Criteria to Use (tick the "same as view-orders" option, or enter your own "where" clause)


By default, the bulk-printing facility will use the same search criteria that your view-orders page is using, but you can change it to use any criteria you like. This means that you can do things like showing paid-orders-only in the bulk-printing of the slip even when you're displaying all orders on the view-orders screen.

18 29-FEB-2008 Minor correction to Merchant and Supplier email slips; the shipmethod was being shown where the shipmessage should have been shown, thereby showing the shipmethod twice and the shipmessage not at all. This was only happening when there was a non-blank value in the shipmessage field for a given order. (the customer email slip was ok, and the screens were also ok).

Added charset meta tag to slip header html output (slip screens and slip emails) to allow special characters which were previously not working on some installations of vpasp.
Changed cursor logic as some instances of vpasp were returning blank order-level values due to the 8K ado/sql restrictions.
Added extra config options for optionally specifying fixed widths and/or heights for product thumbnails on all types of slip.

Split the installation instructions into separate files for different versions of vpasp to allow for an easier-to-follow installation process.
Please note: If upgrading from a previous version and if you are using VPASP V7 and your site/server does not allow parent paths, then please change the paths in the includes in the admin/byz_slp_admin_email_vpasp_inc.asp file to use virtual includes/paths instead of parent paths (see the installation notes for more details).
