Mail-List Information - Product Updates and Other Email Notifications

On July 2011 we introduced more options for mail-lists and product/version notifications.

There are now 4 separate types of mail-lists that you can sign-up for, and you can sign-up for any combination of them, and they're all optional, and you can unsubscribe to any of them individually whenever you want.

To unsubscribe to a given mail-list, just visit your profile page, and untick the "Sign-Up?" tickbox on the relevant list and then press the [save changes] button. Or, click on the unsubscribe link that's provided in the email that you received from the relevant mail-shot.

Below we've described the 4 separate types of mail-lists in detail:

1. Newsletters (eg "BYZ Monthly Newsletter")
This is a general "news" mail-shot, it's not necessarily tailored to your interests/products and will just give you a summary of recent news from the vendor, such as some new products, tips, or discounts etc.
Not all new products that a vendor releases will be on this mail-shot, and neither will information about all the enhancements/bug-fixes that the vendor has released.
So, you should consider this to be a "general interest" mail-shot, but not a definitive list of new products/versions released.

2. New Products (eg "New BYZ Products")
If you're signed up to this mail-list, then whenever a new product is released by the vendor you'll get emailed immediately telling you about that product.
You will only receive an email if you haven't already been emailed about the relevant new products already, so, when a new product is released, you'll receive an email telling you about it, and you won't be emailed again until/unless another new product comes along later on.
These emails are sent out as soon as a new product is released. The list of "New Products" in the email will be all the brand new products that had their first release after you were last emailed (or after you signed-up to the mail-list if you haven't received an email yet).
So, this mail-list will tell you about brand new products as soon as they're released, but it won't tell you about new versions to existing products (ie upgrades/bug-fixes).

3. New Versions (eg "New BYZ Versions")
If you're signed up to this mail-list, then whenever a new version of any product is released from the vendor, you'll get emailed immediately telling you about that new version (ie the bug-fix or enhancement details).
You can use this if, for example, you don't already own a given product, but you know (or hope) that an enhancement to it is "in the pipeline" and you want to find out when it gets released.
Similarly to the New Products mail-list, this will only be sent to you once for a given version, ie you won't be emailed about a given version more than once.
So, this mail-list will tell you whenever new enhancements and bug fixes become available for any products from the vendor, and you'll be emailed as soon as that new version comes out.

4. My Updates (eg "My BYZ Updates")
This is probably the most important mail-list of all if you have (or are buying) products from the vendor.
This is a personally-tailored email which will tell you whenever new versions (bug fixes or enhancements) come out for products that you've already got.
Similarly to the New Products mail-list, this will only be sent to you once for a given version, ie you won't be emailed about a given version more than once.
So, this mail-list will tell you whenever new enhancements and bug fixes become available for your products, and you'll be emailed as soon as that new version comes out.
Although you can choose to unsubscribe to this mail-list, we strongly advise to stay subscribed to it for the vendor that you've got products for, otherwise you might not find out about vital bug/security fixes or enhancements.

Important Note: When you signup to any maillist on bigyellowkey.com, neither bigyellowkey, nor the vendor, will ever give/sell your details to anybody else.

We do not give away or sell your details. Period.
